Frostbitten Henchmen, Re-equipped

With toy runs that never could give us some of our basic classic heroes, good henchmen were a rarity, but how could the villians of Gotham city carry out their schemes and pose a real threat to the dynamic duo without trusted underlings at their sides? Kenner's 1997 Batman and Robin gave us an exceptionally satisfying henchman for Mr. Freeze. With a cold and menacing mask, the hockey-pad armored Frostbite was the leader of those who attacked the caped crusaders on the ice with hockey sticks. I came across, not one, but three of his figures in the bargain bin of the flea market, natrually without any accessories. Fortunately, I thought of Frostbite without his hocky stick while walking the aisled at Dollar Tree and saw not only bright orange hockey sticks hanging from the pegs of the doll section, but also skis and snowboards. Unsatisfied with a single Freeze underling, but waiting for inspiration on the alteration that would set the other two apart so as to justify being added to a display, I immediately wondered if the diversity of equipment alone could be all that was needed. I realized that if Freeze could have one henchman armed with a hockey stick to put the Caped Crusader on ice, then he may even better to send many armed with all the implements of winter sports. No alteration has been done to the figures except slight repositioning of hands and feet after a ten second dip in boiling water to accomodate the skates, snowboard and skies that otherwise fit suprizingly well. Thou Shalt Remember the Dollar Tree and keep it holy.
